Research Projects - Leadership Strategy

Leadership Strategy refers to the human and organizational capabilities needed for an organization to ensure sustainable competitive advantage and enduring vitality. For example, how are an organization's leadership development practices and its talent management programs linked? How does an organization integrate its approach to succession planning with its approach to leadership development? How consistent is its approach to performance management with the organization's espoused values? These are the kinds of issues that are involved in the general area of Leadership Strategy. It is a concept that is fundamental to CCL's emerging work in the area of organizational leadership development, and to helping organizations enhance their overall capacity for leadership. In partnership with other organizations, this project aims to identify best practices by which organizations both formally and informally link their approaches to leadership, leadership development, values and organizational culture to their business strategies.
