Globally responsible leadership asks business organizations to pay attention to the impact their operations have on the planet - requiring a systemic view addressing the diverse economic, social, and environmental issues involved with running an organization. Unfortunately, not much is understood about how leaders and organizations deal with these expanded and integrated principles of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. In fact, many organizations are struggling to fully implement a sustainability/corporate social responsibility (CSR) framework and find leadership of this 'new work' to be quite challenging.
In this session you will learn:
- What is sustainability and what are its advantages?
- How do leaders develop their sustainability/CSR perspectives, in order to be able to develop this capacity in new leaders;
- Practices adopted by and challenges experienced by leaders pursuing sustainability/CSR; and
- How organizational systems and strategies contribute to sustainability and responsibility.
Maximizing the Value of the Webinar
- Invite others to participate. Structure a group "lunch and learn" session and invite other colleagues to attend.
- Debrief the lessons learned. Set aside time at the end of the Webinar to discuss takeaways, and how they apply to your group or organization
- Tap into your training budget. Ask your HR group or manager to underwrite the Webinar as part of your organization's ongoing staff development effort.
