Do you want to be more effective at work and at home? In a world of constant access and busy lives, everyone struggles with managing their energy and time. It is difficult to be engaged and effective when overwhelmed and stretched too thin. Today, individuals have more options than ever before in how they work, when they work, and where they work. These new ways of working can be an opportunity or a burden.

Individuals need a toolbox of techniques to cope with the demands and requests of modern life. This webinar shares a framework for helping individuals better understand approaches to dividing time and attention between the many demands of work and personal life. Jointly developed by CCL and Professor Ellen Ernst Kossek of Michigan State University, this framework helps individuals develop greater awareness of the many different ways to manage boundaries between work and personal life.

This webinar will help you understand:

  • A framework illustrating the different approaches individuals bring to managing work-life boundaries.
  • The tradeoffs associated with different styles of work-life boundary management.
  • A five-step process for moving towards a more productive and sustainable way of managing the boundaries between work and family.

Maximizing the Value of the Webinar

  • Invite others to participate. Structure a group "lunch and learn" session and invite other colleagues to attend.
  • Debrief the lessons learned. Set aside time at the end of the Webinar to discuss takeaways, and how they apply to your group or organization
  • Tap into your training budget. Ask your HR group or manager to underwrite the Webinar as part of your organization's ongoing staff development effort.
